This section describes Tomplayer GUI.

You can move the mouse over the different screens to get contextual help.

While moving the mouse over the screens, some sections are click-able : they are linked to the screen that would be displayed if you click on that button while using Tomplayer.

 

Main menu

This is tomplayer main screen.

From left to Right, top to bottom, here are the different actions

  • Play audio file(s)
  • Play video file
  • Resume last audio or video played file
  • Settings (select skins, options...)
  • Display informations
  • Exit

 

Audio selection

 

 

On this screen, you can browse you memory tree:

  • You enter a folder by clinking on it
  • You go up by clicking on the ".." special file

To select the files you want to play, just click on them.

At the bottom, note :

  • The shuffle button that enables / disables the random play of the playlist
  • the  shortcuts to select/unselect all the files in the current folder

Audio player

 

 

While playing a song, you can interact with the skin you have selected.

You can seek in the current file by clicking on the progress bar.

The buttons can behave differently according to the skin settings :

  • On some skins it moves to the previous next song
  • On other skins it performs a fast forward /rewind in the current song

If you want to change the behaviour of your favorite skin, have a look at the advanced configuration

 

 

Video selection

 

 

On the screen, you can browse you memory tree:

  • You enter a folder by clinking on it
  • You go up by clicking on the ".." special file

To select the files you want to play, just click on them, a preview will be automatically displayed (it takes a few seconds).

The preview can be disabled if you don't care about it : it is explained in the FAQ.

 

Video player

 

 

 

While playing a video, you can interact with the skin you have selected by clicking on the screen.

You can :

  • Pause the movie
  • Seek in the current file by clicking on the progress bar or by using the buttons.
  • You can set the Brightness, the volume and the audio delay

Just click again on the movie to hide the menu ...

 

Resume selection

This screen enables to quickly resume your last video or audio playlist.

 

Options selection

 

 

This screen enables to select the options you wqant to set :

  • Audio skin
  • Video skin
  • Other settings

 

Audio skin selection

 

 

On this screen, you can select you audio skin.

Just click on the filename and get a preview of the skin, then select it by clicking on the > button.

 

Video skin selection

 

 

On this screen, you can select you video skin.

Just click on the filename and get a preview of the skin, then select it by clicking on the > button.

General options menu

 

 

This screen gives access to to the configuration of :

  • Default paths
  • Screen saver
  • Diaporama
  • FM transmitter
You can also enable/disable the small text option : it changes the font size in the audio/video file selector screens.

 

Default paths configuration

 

 

On this screen you can choose the default folder for audio and video.

The default folder is the folder in which you are when you enter the audio or video selection.

 

Screen saver configuration

 

 

 

On this screen you can enable/disable the screen saver and set the delay to activate it.

Of course, the screen saver only applies to audio playing.

If the diaporama is not enabled, then your screen is turned off else the diaporama starts.

 

Diaporama configuration

 

 

On this screen you can :

  • enable/disable the diaporama feature.
  • set the folder in which the pictures to display are stored.
  • set the delay between the pictures

FM transmitter configuration

 

 

On this screen you can

  • enable/disable the FM transmitter.
  • Set the frequency you want to use

Note that when the FM transmitter is enabled, the internal speaker is automatically muted...
